Grief moved through cycles of remembrance, absence and acceptance. What once felt like pain slowly softened, leaving behind love, care, and gratitude. Repetition becomes an act of attempting to hold onto what is slowly fading. Through repeated gestures, words, and offerings, ritual created a space where memory continued to exist even after life had ended. It not only became a way of mourning the departed, but also a way of celebrating the life that once was and that continued to live within memory.
But sometimes, when I sit on my bed,
And I see your face,
I remember your life before death,
Your breath before silence,
And everything that remained.
