Smarika Maharjan

Smarika Maharjan is a visual artist based in Lalitpur, Nepal. Her practice explores themes of identity, memory and passing of time, through repetition as a recurring element in her work. She draws from her personal experiences, cultural rituals, and everyday observations, aiming to create a space for personal and collective reflection.

Process also plays an important role in her artistic practice. Many of her works grow through repetitive processes. Through her practice, she focuses on processes that involve time, allowing the work to evolve gradually.
